Online Learning
Designed by Dr Ian Dettman in collaboration with a team of international senior medical specialists, our comprehensive online intravenous nutrition training course will teach Medical Practitioners everything they need to know about IV Nutrition Therapy.
Our online training modules have been created for Doctors and Nurses to empower themselves with the current guidelines and clinical information relating to the uses of Injectable Nutrients. Please note that this course is not available to Allied Practitioners, Pharmacists or other Non-health professionals.
Comprehensive on-line downloadable workshop manuals will be included with each lecture.
Our online courses are designed for remote learning and cover a broad array of topics offered by senior and experienced medical educators. If you have purchased a coursework (Module), you will see it displayed in your account details page. You must register your details with AIMN before you are able to purchase our online workshops.
Course Educators:
Our faculty of highly experienced Physician Instructors and Medical Researchers, trained and qualified with many many years of accumulated experience in this area of Medicine, have been teaching our face to face workshop for over a decade; empowering Doctors and Nurses with injectable nutrition therapies.

Why Injectable Nutrients?
Nutrients play a part in every biochemical process in the body. For the body to function optimally, these nutrients need to be present in sufficient quantities, in the right form and in balance with each other.
Nutrients include vitamins and minerals. Ideally, we obtain most of our nutrients through our diet and through processes within the body, including the action of bacteria in the gut. However, there are circumstances, such as disease, stress and other conditions in which sufficient nutrients may not be obtainable through the diet.
In such cases, supplementation may be required.
Medical Nutrition is the clinical application of the current substantial knowledge about the roles played by nutrients in health and disease.
A doctor trained in Medical Nutrition can investigate a person’s nutritional status and can then suggest nutrient therapies which could assist in achieving optimal health, preventing disease or fighting existing disease.
In some cases, the best form of delivery of nutrients is through intravenous or intramuscular injection. This may be because: large doses, if taken orally, may adversely affect the gut; the person may have problems with absorption; the best form of the nutrient may not be well tolerated if taken orally; or a rapid response is needed, which may not be achieved through oral supplementation.
To practice injectable nutrient therapy properly, a Doctor must undertake additional study beyond that offered in any medical school in this country.
The Australasian Institute for Medical Nutrition offers a comprehensive and specialised training to Doctors and Nurses.
